Growing up overseas, Sarah developed a passion for historical preservation. She graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Interior Design. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on Color Therapy and strongly believes that living amidst great design can positively affect your subconscious and inspire you.
After working over a decade in the design/build field, Sarah found herself drawn to the nuance and detail of custom millwork. In 2014, this passion led her to Jennifer Gilmer Kitchens & Bath, where attention to detail is not only encouraged but celebrated. Balancing her technical knowledge, client care, and creativity, Sarah consistently exudes energy and motivation for every project. She has a talent for listening and interpreting clients’ design intent.
Her award-winning work has been featured in HOME, Traditional Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Chesapeake Home and The Washingtonian. In 2016, Sarah won 2 NKBA awards for kitchen projects. Her work has been featured on Houzz.com for "Best Kitchens Under 100 Square Feet," where it was viewed by more than 60,000 houzzers.
Although she takes her work very seriously, she does not take herself so seriously. She’s been known to drive from job site to job site on her motorcycle. Away from work, Sarah can most often be found on the sidelines cheering on one of her three active sons.
